Learners will be able to:
- Describe the relationship between ASD and Mental Health.
- Comprehend the role of trauma and the impact it has on students.
- Discuss the relationship of ASD and mental health to suicide.
- Identify mental health and ASD challenges that are manifested as behavior.
- Indicate de-escalation strategies during difficult moments.
- Explain the reason for challenging behavior and the underlying conditions.
- Develop a behavior plan with strategies for minimizing behaviors.
- Summarize strategies for working with families and the roles they can play.
- Identify systems issues that may need to be addressed.
