Hands down, it’s magical. What a child does with their hands sets into motion learning to talk. What you do and say really matters. By talking about what a child is doing with their hands, you can help a child learn to talk. Come watch videos with us to see the Early Social Interaction (ESI) model in action with families of children with social communication and language delays. A key is helping families support their child so they learn to use more and more actions and gestures with their hands in activities they already do every day, like getting dressed, preparing a meal, doing laundry, and watering plants.
- Join our 6-week fall webinar series — Coaching Families of Young Children with Autism Using the ESI Model for professionals working with children and families in early intervention or early childhood education. This 6-week, fall webinar series starts Wednesday, September 13th from 12 noon to 1:30pm ET. The Autism Navigator team will share active ingredients to coach parents of children with autism using the ESI model to support their child’s learning in everyday activities. Learn more and register.
- Join our How-To Guide for Families webinar on Tuesday, September 12th and 26th at 1:00pm ET for families who have children with social communication delays, challenging behavior, or suspect their child has autism, so they can get started right away and support their child’s learning in everyday activities.
